The 25 and 26 May 2023, emilee was presenting why and how to assess, monitor and mitigate the Human Capital Risk. Risk-!n 2023 event in Zurich has been a outstanding occasion to collect attendees concerns and to effectively position our solutions in the landscape of Risk Management.
FEW WORDS ABOUT RISK-!N
Over 250 participants (C-Levels, Risk Managers, Board Members and Risk Management experts), 2 full days and 40 speaker sessions to leverage Risk Management impact on the business. A real challenge to organize such a rich program and to select the key speakers. Definitely, a place to be if you need to set your Enterprise Risk Management at the next level.
Human Capital risk management is everyone’s business. Many could think it’s an HR concern but not only! In fact, HR spend most of their time in managing day-to-day operations (recruitment, mobility, successions and more) related to usual workforce planning. But who knows about tomorrow’s needs? What are the key-roles and thus key competencies that will support future business needs and transformations? Who are the ones who will create true added value despite the Business changes and systemic stress nearly all companies experience today?
C-LEVELS AND MANAGERS
Are the first concerned, then all talents with their know and hidden skills. When it’s time to consider Human Capital risks as one of the most critical to assess and mitigate, C-Levels and Managers are struggling with legacy HR processes and systems.
Traditionnal HR processes and systems are fully OK to serve traditionnal needs. They are mandatory! But new challenges require new approaches, new mindset.
Human Capital Risk Management is therefore a question of active Competency-Based Management (CBM) and, as experience and studies have largely proven: it’s a Management responsibility and all stakeholders have to be involved to cultivate the CBM approach.
HOW TO PROCEED?
It has to start from the Board of Directors (defining the right strategy and culture to tackle future business challenges). Then the Board can plan the drive with the C-suite.
C-Suite who will have then to drive the plan involving managers, leaders and matter experts. This is why real-time monitoring of the KCIs (Key Competency Indicators) is a must have.
Would you hit the road without a reliable maps/GPS and power gauges ?
A transformation journey is like a road trip: at the beginning, all is fine, Managers and leaders are singing in the backseat, felling the fresh air of future business flowing into their hair…but sooner than expected, the car is running out of power (skills, engagement;-).
This is why hidden potential has to be assessed as soon as possible for a safe journey.
